UNDERWATER & BEACH CLEAN UP and WORKSHOPS
INTRODUCTION
Koh Tao is renowned for its tropical beauty, rich marine biodiversity, and world-class dive sites. However, maintaining this natural paradise requires continuous effort. Marine debris, plastic pollution, and microplastics are growing threats caused by a mix of ocean currents, land-based runoff, and irresponsible waste management. In response, the local conservation community hosts regular educational and action-based activities — from underwater clean-ups and waste management workshops to microplastic surveys — to raise awareness and protect marine ecosystems.
GOALS
These workshops aim to reduce marine pollution, prevent harm to coral reefs and marine life, and promote long-term sustainability. Through hands-on clean-up dives, practical waste management sessions, and microplastic research activities, we engage the public in meaningful conservation efforts. By involving divers, students, locals, and tourists alike, we can foster a deeper understanding of ocean health and empower participants to become active stewards of the sea.
