Sea Glass Creations with Baan Nam Cha

INTRODUCTION

As a small island with limited resources and waste disposal options, Koh Tao residents have embraced the practice of limiting non-biodegradable products and exploring recycling and upcycling techniques. Introducing the Seaglass Collection, showcasing what it is and the creative possibilities it holds. By crafting with our own hands, we empower people to collect their beach memories home without disturbing the natural cycle by picking up corals and seashells.

GOALS

Instead of taking from nature, we encourage participants to embrace the beauty of sea glass, a discarded item with immense creative potential. Through our workshop, we aim to demonstrate how, with our own hands and a dash of creativity, sea glass can be transformed into unique ocean treasures.

ACTIVITY DETAILS

Join our sea glass jewelry workshop! Learn how the collection, compaction, and recycling system works, and what tools are used in the process. Led by a local recycling expert using 100% glass that has been collected on Koh Tao, you’ll make your own recycled glass creation like a necklace or bracelet to bring home.
